My name is Juan Pablo, and since August of last year, I have held the position of Project Manager Intern at Lumston, a software development company committed to recognizing Mexican tech talent. Currently, I am pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Business Intelligence at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Guadalajara (ITESM). (Blurred for Privacy Reasons.)During the financial direction class at ITESM, I had the opportunity to work on a project where I analyzed the basic financial statements, including the Income Statement and Balance Sheet, as well as calculated financial ratios and percentages for horizontal and vertical analysis of financial statements using Excel. The project was focused on Agribest, a company that I studied as part of the course.
Link to video.In this project, I employed a Vector Autoregressive (VAR) model to dissect and predict the stock market performance of key automotive companies like Toyota and Volkswagen. After importing relevant libraries and stock price data, I conducted a Granger causality test, revealing subtle yet significant relationships between the stocks. The findings from the VAR model offered predictive insights and highlighted the interconnected impact of market variables over time.
